Trying my hand

I have been ask why I don't start a blog and put my recipes on it along with my beading or crocheting adventures and of course thoughts of everyday life. So, I have decided to just go with it and see what I come up with. Surley I can figure this out. I can't imagine why anyone would want to read my blog but I do have to say I can cook some real awesome meals. ;-)

I love the country cooking I was raised on and raised my family on.  As we have gotten a little older I try and put more healthy meals on the table. I have to say that it is not to hard to convert to healthy but I find it cost more. Imagine that. My family usually doesn't know the difference in healthy and comfort if I do it right. Anyway...Most on here will be southern country comfort food. (portion control, right?)

I do find it hard to use recipes. I usually just go for it. After my mother died last October I accidently found some of her and my grandmothers recipes on the inside pages of an old worn out AFBC recipe book and in an old coupon tin. It brought back so many memories of meals and good times from when I was younger. That made me want to make my daughter and daughter-in-law recipe boxes, which I did so for Christmas. So most of the recipes have been written down as I make them so I know they are correct. Of course put in or take out whatever you like. Isn't that what cooking is all about?
If a recipe is moms or grannies I will state this for my family.
